The Kirstenbosch Garden is one of the greatest botanical gardens in the world. Beautiful flowers and trees make up the foreground with the stunning mountain range in the background.
My experience with the ticket pricing was a little ambiguous. I saw that the price was R80 for adults but noticed afterwards that on the sign this said this was the price for South Africa with an ID card. I was asked for ID but not knowing about the South African cards I just showed the lady my UK driving license and she still gave me the R80 price. But be warned on a normal day it says it should cost R200 for non-South Africans, a little steep if you ask me! So, for clarification, prices and opening times are below.

Be sure to check out the Boomslang Tree Canopy Walkway, it is a definite highlight of any trip to Kirstenbosch. You can enjoy the mountainous views from a somewhat bouncy walkway as well as trying to spot local birds in the forest canopy.
There are plenty of walking routes around the gardens with a variety of views. The Boekenhout Trail was a nice little up, across and down hike, a perfect escape from people, and a place to listen to the silence, and the occasional bird call.
There are two car parks: Gate 1 Visitors’ Centre and Gate 2 Garden Centre. You can also visit a nice little art gallery at the garden centre entrance too. I would definitely recommend a visit to Kirstenbosch, and make sure to bring your camera.
